The Moela Story
Moela is the culmination of a visionary partnership between David Dugmore, Mr. Moela, and Gloria. United by their passion for conservation and community involvement, they have created an extraordinary safari lodge that thrives on the boundaries of wildlife areas, ensuring sustainable protection and expansion of the natural world.

David Dugmore, a pioneer in Botswana's safari industry for nearly 40 years, has a remarkable history of innovative conservation efforts and safari experiences. David’s deep understanding of the area and his commitment to resolving human-wildlife conflicts have saved countless zebras, wildebeest, a myriad of other species and helped preserve vital migratory routes in the Makgadikgadi.

The Moela's connection to the local community and their shared vision with David led to the creation of Moela and The Lands. Mr. Moela, a community member and businessman, and his wife Gloria, with her extensive background in HR and tourism, have returned to their roots to ensure that tourism uplifts their community. This collaboration has resulted in a one-of-a-kind lodge in the Ngande Reserve which shares an open border with the Makgadikgadi National Park. The reserve offers prime wildlife viewing and a commitment to community empowerment and wildlife conservation.

Together, David, Moela and Gloria believe that lasting conservation begins with people. By involving rural communities, they promote biodiversity and mutual respect for the land and its inhabitants. Join us at Moela to experience this incredible partnership and their dedication to protecting and sharing the wild beauty of Botswana.
